It Shoots

Johnny woke to his mother’s screams. He stumbled down to the living room, bleary-eyed. Through the large bay window in the living room he could see Boston Harbor and ribbons of smoke coming from the jagged teeth of the Boston skyline. The skyscrapers were like great chimneys, rivulets of smoke flowing away to the horizon. The sun colored the smoke with orange and purple through the black and brown.

The clocks had stopped, so he couldn’t say exactly when stream of people started…
