June Shodo, aka “Pshee!”

Sensei tells me that I’m finally getting my lines straight. I love how she says it. It’s onomatopoeia, “Pshee!” Which means like wicked straight. I must admit, the following is probably the most “Pshee!” I have ever written my kanji.

Kana is still my strong suit, but I had a hell of a time this month. I wrote for hours and hours, and it just wouldn’t come out the way I wanted. Finally, I settled on this. But when Sensei was reviewing, she pointed out that I wrote on the wrong side of the paper, the whole time. Which was why it wasn’t coming out the way I wanted. Sigh. Still, I produced the following.
